Dune London AW’16 Accessories

Accessories take on a new direction for AW16, silhouettes become more refined, the use of colour and texture is revived and additional dimensions are explored.

Moving into the new season, a clean, modernist aesthetic is introduced through unlined structures, minimal hardware and subtle branding. A muted palette of pewter, navy and warm grey across drawstring bucket bags, winged totes and saffiano shoppers make for a fresh, understated transition into autumn. Day bags become more adaptable, where top-handle totes feature detachable front envelope clutches for additional multi-wear options.

Olivine green becomes a key colour for the season, lending itself to the emerging utility trend. Key profiles include oversized shearling fur shoppers, pocket detail duffle bags, curved saddle styles and foldover mixed material clutches in an assortment of khaki suede and forest green leathers.

Patchwork remains a key treatment for AW16, where a juxtaposition of print and colour can be found on trapeze totes and chunky chain crossbody styles. The use of mixed materials develops further through the season, where a ‘cut and paste’ approach to textiles is introduced to shoulder bag profiles. Cheetah prints are mixed back with metallic reptile, block colour faux-pony and soft suedes.

Mini bags are reinvented for AW16 by dramatically shrinking in size. Micro-mini pieces are adorned with statement jewels, studs, glitters and polished patent finishes. Crossbody, trapeze and bucket bag styles are reduced to miniature proportions in an array of berry red, navy and cosmetic pink tones.

Eveningwear brings an essence of dark romance, where minaudière clutches are decorated in brocade fabrics, sheer black lace, poetic floral prints and satins in deep, midnight shades. Oversized faux fur stoles offer added glamour whilst classic leather gloves are adorned with eyelets, faux fur cuffs and ribbon trimmings.
